Course Details Reciprocating Compressor

Resolving potential faults at an early stage requires a thorough understanding of a compressor's operating behaviour and safety systems. This includes liquid formation and behavioural changes as a result of revised process parameters. Our training courses are designed to optimise compressor reliability, and cover all aspects of a reciprocating compressor in detail.

Howden Thomassen Compressors B.V. has designed and manufactured reciprocating compressors for over a century. Considerable technical progress has been made during this period, and we have developed several highly innovative technologies that save operators time and money. Many modern compressors are also equipped with (automatic) protection and control systems that optimise availability.

To maximise compressor availability, operators increasingly use condition monitoring systems, including our TCSM 3.0 system (developed in co-operation with Brüel & Kjær).

The 5-day training course covers the following:

  • Introduction
  • Theory
  • Data Sheets
  • Components
  • Systems
  • Capacity Control Systems
  • Operation
  • Trouble Shooting & Fault Finding
  • Condition Monitoring
  • Maintenance & Alignment

FFP™; unique design, proven technology

The Free Floating Piston (FFP™) has long proven itself. Thomassen invented and marketed this special piston in 1998 and has built quite a reference list ever since.
