FFP™; unique design, proven technology
The Free Floating Piston (FFP™) has long proven itself. Thomassen invented and marketed this special piston in 1998 and has built quite a reference list ever since.
The Reciprocating Compressor module of the Shell Rotating Machinery course was held at Thomassen Training Centre in the Netherlands. Young Shell engineers visited the Thomassen plant as part of a two-week training course at Shell Learning Center in the Netherlands. Thomassen provides this specialist training every year.
“A very useful day” says Peter Duineveld, head of Thomassen Technology. “We were able to explain the basics of reciprocating compressors while simultaneously introducing our guests to the Thomassen organization”.
Discussions & Critical Questions
The one-day training focused on compressor construction, operating principles and selection. In addition to sharing valuable information and ideas, participants took part in - and initiated - several highly useful discussions. Critical questions were not avoided! An extensive shop tour was very much appreciated and completed the training.
