Sinochem Quanzhou places significant order

On March 18, 2011 Thomassen has been awarded an order for two C-85.3 compressors by Sinochem Quanzhou, a company based in the People's Republic of China. Part of the order, including the compressors, the accessories and the process equipment, will be manufactured abroad and shipped to China. However, some of the deliverables, including the 6MW Main drive motor and some for the auxiliary equipment, will be sourced locally and delivered directly to the Quanzhou jobsite.

Early project studies were conducted in 2008 in collaboration with the HQCEC design institute, while the technical tender document was finally signed in September 2010 at the offices of the LPEC design institute in Luoyang. Both compressors will be installed at the brand new, state-of-the-art petrochemical refinery to be constructed in the prosperous province of Fujian.

The value of the imported equipment amounts to some € 5,000,000 (CIF Xiamen delivery conditions) while the local contract is worth approximately RMB 14.776.000,- (DDP Quanzhou delivery conditions).

The units, which are able to withstand a maximum load of 1,121 kN will each process 63,800 Nm3/hr of hydrogen from 24.33 to 181.65 bar(a) in three stages.

These are the largest compressors ever sold to a Chinese customer in terms of compressor model, power rating and maximum load!

FFP™; unique design, proven technology

The Free Floating Piston (FFP™) has long proven itself. Thomassen invented and marketed this special piston in 1998 and has built quite a reference list ever since.
