Korean Rotating Machinery Maintenance Symposium

The 13th Korea Rotating Machinery Maintenance symposium (KRMEA) was held in Ulsan, Korea on 17 and 18 November 2011. Traditionally Howden Thomassen Compressors uses the symposium to present its latest technologies.

Gerard Peppelman, Area Marketing & Sales Manager, held many participants captivated with his presentation on Thomassen's innovative Rsens™.  The different perspective from which the sensor approaches rider ring monitoring is of great interest for many applications.

One of them being the polysilicon market of which for instance OCI took interest in Gerard's presentation.  Traditionally the KRMEA symposium is attended by a wide variety of refinery and chemical plant maintenance and engineering staff. Companies like LG Caltex, SK innovation, Hyundai Oilbank, S-Oil etc. were present.

Last but not least the seminar provides an ideal setting for  catching up with business relations and exchange of project information.

Successful overhaul at BP Rotterdam

During the scheduled shutdown at the BP refinery in Rotterdam at the end of 2011, Howden Thomassen Compressors (HTC) overhauled two C-25.2 reciprocating compressors.
