Successful overhaul at BP Rotterdam
During the scheduled shutdown at the BP refinery in Rotterdam at the end of 2011, Howden Thomassen Compressors (HTC) overhauled two C-25.2 reciprocating compressors.
Hydrofit
The hydrofit piston rod design has been incorporated in Thomassen reciprocating compressors for over 20 years. As the prime reason for piston rod failure is fatigue, our rods are designed for maximum fatigue strength.
Thomassen has traditionally used a preloaded rod end, allowing cyclic stresses from externally applied loads to be reduced significantly. The assembly and disassembly of preloaded joints is quick, uncomplicated and easily controlled using hydraulic tools.
