H2 Compression in 60 minutes

Introducing new engineers to the world of H2 compression. That was the objective of the workshop organized by Howden Thomassen do Brazil (HTdB) in June. Junior and Senior Engineers from various contractors and engineering firms in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro were invited to get to know HTdB and its Sales Engineers. A separate session was given specially for Petrobras staff at the Petrobras University.

60 Minute Introduction
The workshop started with a 60 minute explanation on the operation of H2 compressors. Relevant aspects of the compression process, and how the involvement of various stakeholders improves the reliability and availability of process-critical equipment were explained. Also today's trends impact were highlighted.

Added Value
After the introduction the focus of the workshop shifted to subjects like thermodynamic laws, Thomassen machinery range and design aspects, Free Floating Piston™, Rsens™ as well as to compression efficiency, availability and reliability to illustrate the added value of Howden Thomassen Compressors, its products and its services.

Get-together
The workshop turned out to be a nice get-together for new people in the industry. “It was very interesting to hear their ideas on the changes Thomassen currently undergoes. What are we valued for and what things should or should not change, now that we are part of the Howden Group” says Stefan Meijer, Managing Director of Howden Thomassen do Brasil.

FFP™; unique design, proven technology

The Free Floating Piston (FFP™) has long proven itself. Thomassen invented and marketed this special piston in 1998 and has built quite a reference list ever since.
